Pirate and the Princess..oh but wait she isn't ready yet...

Two of my most special BFF's recently had a pirate and princess party for their little ones...Sadly I was unable to attend...so I wanted to make them something special as they are very amazing little people and they have the most wonderful sense of imagination and playtime...Well obviously they love pretending they are pirates and princess...now here is my pirate gift but as most princess's you will have to wait because she just isn't ready yet...what is a girl to do..one can't just be princess at a moments notice..not like those dirty ole pirate's who knows the last time the brushed their hair and changed their clothes..lol...any how Happy Birthday ..I mean ARRGh!! me matey...Happy Birthday!! ...yo ho ho...She will make an appearance by the end of the weekend ..we hope..
I am going to use this as my entry for another awesome challenge on the splendid stamping blog..http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com/2009/10/farm-fresh-sans-frills.html this link will give you the rules also...this is a no frills challenge...yikes...no ribbons, flowers, or lace ..nothing to girlie..but you know what since I have a son I better learn to create more with out always trying to sneak in a pretty flower or ribbon..lol...
I used The Greeting Farm Stamp of Pirate Ian from the Matey set...which I love...and I stamped and then used copics for the coloring..I stamped and embossed wee jolly rogers on his hat for added effect. They turned out quite well...you can actually see them in the picture...I added a bead which is the boat and I hand stitched the little loopy line and X....
I actually burned the paper nearly started a fire and then added Tim holtz distress ink and then spritzed the paper with water again..lol and crumpled into a ball..then left to dry.
I used pirate foam letters for the name and for the doubloons and key. For the gold on the key and doubloons I used paint and then heated them to make them look old and antique. I used gold rope to hang the sign and some more jolly rogers to finish it off...
Thank you for stopping by....you can see it here at the gallery also and all the other wonderful creations from the talented bunch of The greeting farm rubber stamps...Hey grab a rum and coke on the way out...lol

A new beginnings challenge in 3D...

Well Club Anya stumped and surprised me today....they announced my winning the Mystery Monday Challenge then they posted a wonderful 3D Challenge with the theme of New beginnings. Wow I thought and thought hmmm New years...Birthday...baby...ahh a new home...what a great idea for this challenge and I will be making girlfriends gift at the same time...ah killing two birds with one stone...we already ate the turkey here in Canada..lol

So I painted and polka dotted a little birdhouse. I then added some grass and flowers and a few good friends to the outside. I stamped Rock the farm Anya and coloured her in copics. I attached her to the house, attached the perfect saying and a nail to hang the watering can.

I hope she brings some love and happiness for my friend and I must say this was a terrific challenge it really had me thinking off the paper and I liked that.

You can see my post for the challenge here:

The rules for the challenge are here and you can get a sneak peak of the new stamps coming out in November....I'm excited..

Edward says Happy Birthday...

My niece's Birthday is coming up and she loves Twilight as do I...so since I had this awesome stamp from Greeting Farm in honour of Edward what better than to have him send a Birthday greeting.
I stamped the image, coloured it in copics in various shades of black and gray of course making sure to keep him pale...I used Martha Stewart's drippy goo punch for the border and her cupcake punch also. I used some stickle, some bling from my stash and a round Birthday sentiment stamp. The candlabra stamp is from Paola last Christmas. I then punched the full moon from some really great patterened paper and there you have it. Thank you for looking.
and if you are interested here is the sketch and rules for the challenge...

Sparkly Christmas Advent Calender chips...

I joined a swap to collectively make an advent Calendar. We are all to make 2 dates on chipboard in a 2 by 2 inch square which in the end we all have the 25 dates to make our calendar.
The number was to be in black and since we had to use traditional colours all I could picture was vintage Christmas so here it is...I made 13 of each date..my dates being the 11th and the 23rd. Since it is snowy here and and cold it really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas so grab yourself a Hot chocolate okay and a marshmallow or two...
They have the vintage feel all over the place just as I hoped they would.
I used two images from free vintage clip art on the net.
For the the 11th I cut and adhered the image onto the chipboard. I inked the edges in blue chalk ink. I then stamped the date and used black stickles to make them pop. I then used diamond stickles for all the furry bits on the little child to make them glitter. I put crystal glass on the face to bring out the Rosy cheeks and great expression. I then used some Martha Stewart glitter to sugar coat the edges...I love the result.
The 23rd chip I made I used another free vintage clip art image. I adhered it to the chipboard and then I used crackle accents to cover the kitties. Then I took liquid pearl red to pop some of the berries and stamped the date and again used black stickles over top.
To edge this one I used green sparkles to frame the whole image and really bring it out.
I love the result of my work they remind of Christmas cards from when I was little...thank you for looking...
